Ok I love a good love story you guys, and well, Emily and Jim’s is one of the sweetest ever! Their Carkeek Park Engagement Session took place right before our stay in place orders happened so I’m just reliving it over and over because it was such a perfect session!
These two drove from Wenatchee for their engagement session with me, and learning more about their story just hit me right in the feels. Emily and Jim are goofy, sweet, and basically just the nicest people ever. They spent their early dates learning the other person’s hobbies, including archery, painting, gardening, cooking, and board games.
Their proposal was a simple and private affair. They were hiking along a snowy river trail outside of Leavenworth. Eventually, Jim stopped under a rocky overhang looking over the river, and Jim pulled the classic, “oh I need to tie my shoe” and got down on one knee. He then pulled out a handmade wooden ring box and proposed. He’d spent the previous few months learning to forge weld silver and copper together. This paid off as he presented Emily with a handmade beautiful silver and copper “mokume gane” band.
