Meet newlyweds Amanda and Stephen:
When I first met with Amanda over coffee last year, she told me that she wanted her wedding photos (at Troll Haven Farms) “to reflect how happy everyone was on that day.” How awesome is that? That’s when I knew I was going to love Amanda.
Then I photographed their engagement session and after hearing their love story, getting to know them AND their pup, I knew I was right. I loved Amanda.
And then, to really top it all off, the morning of their wedding there was a freaking thunderstorm. A thunderstorm in the PNW?! Say what?! I mean, it was dumping (I can say this laughing now, but at the time all I could think was “holy moly lightning and thunder”). While most people would freak out and think that the day was ruined, Amanda looked at me and said “I just want to see Stephen.” So we set up a first look under a covered bridge, walked through inches of water, got soaked, and continued on with the day. And everyone was happy.
Isn’t she amazing!? Yep, I really love Amanda.
What was Amanda’s favorite part of the day? “A great moment was standing in the doorway (of the venue) around 9pm when it was dark and the candles were glowing and we watched all our friends and family living it up on the dance floor,” she says. “There was so much love and joy in the room. We ended the dancing part of the evening with a solo dance to “Time of My Life” from the Dirty Dancing movie and then a tunnel of people cheered us out of the barn and followed us into the castle for the afterparty where we all mingled and ate 14 pizzas from Costco!”
Sounds like the perfect ending to a perfect day. Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Ashcraft!
