Meet newlyweds Sylvia and Alex:
I don’t even know where to begin to talk about Sylvia and Alexander’s wedding. So many emotions! Sylvia is a dear, dear friend of mine that I met long ago when we were both studying abroad in South Africa. Since then, we have stayed in touch and gone on many trips around the world together. Sylvia is one of the sweetest, smartest, and one of the wisest women I know. Plus, I can always count on her to order dessert with me. When I first met Alex I felt like I had known him already – watching them together felt like they had always been together. I think it’s obvious to anyone who meets them that these two are perfect for each other; it just makes sense.
Here’s three things I loved about their wedding day:
1) The venue: First, any time I get to go to Europe is a win for me. Sylvia and Alex got married at this old chapel, full of exposed brick and high ceilings. It reminded me of everything I love about visiting Amsterdam and gave me all the giddy wedding feels. It was right in the middle of the city which gave us some amazing photo opps. A perfect venue for a wedding.
2) The couch: How cool is their ceremony space? Myrthe killed it with the styling! The different textures (hellloooo velvet couch), the string lights, the geometric chairs – I loved it all.
3) The band: It’s been a while since I attended a wedding with a live band, and I have to say, it was a nice addition to the reception! They immediately got the party started at the cocktail hour by serenading Sylvia and Alex (you know I love a good serenade) and continued to get the crowd excited till the very last song. What a party!
Congrats Sylvia and Alex – I can’t wait to see where life takes you two.
