I’ve got the best Deception Pass Engagement Session on the blog today. I wanted to get a little vulnerable with you real quick (bare with me).
I’m just going to say it – life has been pretty hard lately. I think all of us have been feeling the stress and heaviness of our current situations. And it’s starting to weigh on each of us differently. Whether it’s economic stress, feeling lonely and missing your friends and family, gaining that Covid 19 pounds (#meoverhere), wanting to get back to your routine, or maybe a combination of everything, it’s all a lot to feel.
I met up with Tess and Kory for their engagement session, and it instantly felt like the much needed breath of fresh air I was looking for. I know Tess from college, where we were roommates in the best college house ever (shout out to apartment 4!). As much as I wanted to hug her, just seeing her face brought me so much joy during this time.
Sunset Engagement Photos along the Puget Sound
Part of their session took place along the trails at Deception Pass. Part took place at the waters edge with the most beautiful sunset. And while we waited for the perfect sunset light, we caught up over a delicious glass of champagne. I swear wine tastes better when you’re drinking it with an old friend.
After our happy hour/photo intermission we hit the beach and had the dreamiest sunset a photographer could have asked for. Feeling those warm and fuzzy lovey vibes, Tess and Kory snuggled in the beach and played in the water. It was so fun! We talked about their ever-changing wedding plans. The pros to having a backyard wedding and a huge celebration later. And the excitement of their future together. More importantly, while being with one another on that beach, I think we all remembered that even though life’s a huge bummer right now, we should still celebrate these moments. We shouldn’t forget to celebrate that our friends and family – like Tess and Kory- have found their best friend forever and are about to embark on the biggest adventure in their lives. As weddings are getting rescheduled and postponed, they are still happening. And we should still celebrate the moments that we get to share a nice glass of wine with old friends.
It might not look exactly like we had hoped, but these are the moments that make life amazing, and they are still happening. Seeing Tess has Kory, I’m now out of the funk I didn’t quite realize I was slipping into, and I’m so glad I got the reality check I needed.
If you adored their Deception Pass Engagement Session as much as I do, hit me up!
